
Originally from Nokesville, Virginia, cellist Mairead Flory’s career has brought her around the world and playing on the country’s biggest stages. As a solo musician, she has played with orchestras such as the US Army Band, the Richmond Symphony, and the National Philharmonic, and given recitals for audiences worldwide. Adept in both a solo and orchestral role, Mairead has participated in the Tanglewood Institute and played with major orchestras including the Houston Ballet and the National Symphony, working alongside esteemed conductors such as Andris Nelsons, Alan Gilbert, and Marek Janowski.
Mairead pursued her Bachelor’s Degree at Northwestern University where she studied with Hans Jørgen Jensen. She then earned her Master’s Degree at the University of Southern California with Ralph Kirshbaum.
Mairead is currently based in Houston, Texas, where she is an active member of a vibrant music scene and can frequently be heard performing with various chamber and orchestral ensembles.
