If you are familiar with performing arts organizations, you know that the arts have always relied on the generous sponsorship of patrons. Ticket sales alone cannot possibly support any operation. What you may not know, is that it does not take much, in addition to ticket sales to sustain a small operation such as MSCM. For less than the price of a nice dinner date, you can become an important part of our support system.

In our day and age, music can increasingly be enjoyed for free, and the impetus to support the arts seems to be dwindling in reaction. The result of this commodification of the arts is a decrease in the number of musicians who are able to make a living through their art and hence a decrease in the variety and accessibility of the arts to the general public. Many studies have shown the correlation between a community’s access to the arts and its livability, economic growth and resilience. Areas with a vibrant artistic life are time and again shown to be the most desirable places to live. Artistic endeavors are only possible with community support.
